| We are pleased to announce that the calendar has SOLD OUT!! We'd like to thank everyone for their support, the calendar was a great success! This year, 2006, is the 100th anniversary of the Matinicus Congregational Church. The community felt it was a good time to finally install running water into the downstairs kitchen. This will of course make it much easier to have the functions that generally take place there, from musical events/coffee house, the weekly summer crafts market with snacks and pastries, to receptions following a funeral, wedding or baptism. There is a new fund raiser underway in the form of a calendar for 2007. It features 12 of the many women who are connected in some way to the island (perhaps it can become a tradition, with a new group each year!!) It was a lot of fun to make, the photographer was top notch (of course with such terrific models that goes unsaid…) We hope everyone buys one (or many!) and maybe we can sell out…this would be great for the kitchen water fund and, in addition, a portion of funds raised are being donated to breast cancer research. We have included a “peek” of the back cover of the calendar to entice your interest…. |
